[CDATA[Like it or not, cell phones are taking over the world. It doesn't seem like that long ago that "cellular telephones" were still a considered novelty, owned only by important businessmen and Zack Morris. Nowadays, it's not uncommon to see twelve year olds texting each other "meet u at tha monkey bars lol". Thus, it seems a bit anachronistic that in as modern and transit-dependent a city as Toronto, there is still no reception in the subway. ]]

[CDATA[Like many Torontonians, I use the Toronto Transit Commission almost every day. Sometimes it's easy to forget just how lucky we are to have a public transit system that is accessible almost everywhere in the city. The only problem (and it's a big one) is ther TTC's unreliability. In addition to cranky suit-wearing thirty-somethings, packed cars, and a smell that can best be described as a combination of sweat and misery, taking the subway at rush hour subjects you to all sorts of unforeseeable delays and transfers. At times it hardly seems worth it. ]]

The Four Seasons in Yorkville will be moving to a new location in the heart of historic Yorkville, at the corner of Bay Street and Yorkville Avenue. The new development will see the famed chain of luxury hotels migrate eastward from its current incarnation at Bloor and Avenue Road. The existing Four Seasons will be demolished and plans to erect two, uber-tall condo skyscrapers in its place are being put forward. This is music to the ears of wealthy, midtown-loving condo dwellers. But not everyone is happy to hear about the four new towers that will stretch sky-high and steal the sunshine. ]]
