| ts odd how a place that once was the setting of one of Canadas first interactive reality shows has now been transformed into a place where one goes to escape reality. The lofters was canceled during its second season and its arguable that one of the reasons it was cancel was that the actors were playing for the camera. The crowd at Lot 332 seemed to be doing just that but for the invisible camera, theyre definitely there to be seen. This place is not your casual lounge but more of an attempt at yet another club that celebrates excess. See-through bars that give the patron a clear view of the waitresses legs and lush leather bean bag chairs all lend to the atmosphere of Lot 332. Even the automatic sliding doors seem to hint at Lot 332s attempt to make the patron feel as if theyve accomplished something by getting in. As you hit the main room you cant help notice the distinct vibe between the different areas. The loud erratic young crowd in the main room and the more refined older crowd in the smaller room. Survival of the fittest at its best! Large garage doors in the main room give one the sense of being outdoors as do the mini palm trees that line the corners of 332. With its retractable roof and free air flow system its almost as if the outside has been brought in. Clearly Lot 332 is accommodating. Yet, I dont think Lot 332 is trying to create a gentlemens club as Andrew suggested; perhaps it was the abundance of explicit female body baring theatrics that gave that impression. 332 is, however, a highly designed lounge that lacks confidence to the point that it feels it necessary to showcase women in such a way by making them stand behind a see-through glass bar. Look closely and youll notice the girls behind that bar dont even mix their own drinks; fake bartenders take the orders and hand them to a fellow behind the little window. Keep the see-through bar, even the Vegas style lame slips if you have to, but surely Lot 332 can find plenty of attractive women that can actually make a drink. Gentlemens club or not, the reality is that playing it up for the cameras may not have been good for the lofters reality show but it seems to be working just fine for Lot 332. Hopefully, Lot 332 will retain an accommodating nature and those that are there to escape reality will keep coming in if they could just get past that clip-board Nazi at the front. - Faye Sialakas Read Andrew's Review Write a Review Reader Reviews Oh God help me! Bizzall, Toronto November 22, 2004 Oh God help me! Woodbridge Central. Couldn't wait to get out of this place, so many dudes, what losers! At least the Woodbridge fantasies have there own club downtown to keep them out of the other clubs! I will NEVER go to this bar again. Lisa, Brampton Nov. 29, 2004 Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Toronto pass a law against smoking in bars??? Then why was there only ONE room that didn't allow smoking (which confused the hell out of the smokers since they could smoke everywhere else - so they did anyway!) And also, doesn't Lot 332 boast their "retractable roof" on their website?? After asking around, NO ONE has ever seen the roof open up. This bar is hot, sweaty, muggy, smokey and stuck up. The dj's can't mix to save their lives and the clientelle was simply laughable. I will NEVER go to this bar again. |
