Complete list

This funky brunch spot is Toronto’s dirty little secret. This laid-back cool locale features a menu that appeals to a hip, young crowd (under thirty!) in the heart of Roncesvalles. And now that the construction work is done for the season, we just had to take the hike out west.

And hike we did. Much has been done to this part of this town - grand intersections, new sidewalks - yet the exterior of Easy still remains decidedly out of place. Inside, a mixed array of guests lounge about in folksy furniture. From well-dressed folk to young industry type, it's exactly the crowd Easy was angling for.

Easy’s main appeal is its warmth. The theme is homey, the materials aim for creature comforts-- the seating arrangement, hardwood floors, traditional elements. It still has a slickness to it, but not in an overpowering way, in a way that makes you want to dig out the Kenzo. The music coming in over the speakers is a mix of acid jazz, a bit of classic hip-hop and soul, and it's a nice touch to the overall coffee-shop-like atmosphere. And when it's cold outside, and you're depressed and nothing and no one can cheer you up, what you need is comfort food.

Comfort food with a twist.
They do their own take on the breakfast theme here, as you’ll find Huevos Divorciados (fried eggs, spicy tomato purée and refried beans. Slightly sweet ancho-chili jam is a nice touch to the already spicy course The name is in reference to the separation between the eggs and the red and green colors of the tomato purée. All day breakfast, everyday. French toast, huevos Divorciados (fried eggs, spicy red and green peppers, tomato purée $9.50), Eggs Florentine ($8) and Belgian Waffles ($4.75 on weekends only).

Most of the dishes here are egg type, but there are several sandwiches on the menu that come with somewhat withered home fries (soggy on my first visit, cold and dry the next) or salad. Breakfast seems to be the best bet. Complete meals for $15 per person, including all taxes, tip and a glass of wine.
