| ingle and mix with the kooky-cool crowd at this fabulous throwback eatery, Cha Cha Cha. Relax at the bar while sipping a signature cocktail (or a high-octane Mojito), before moving to a banquette beneath the retro-eclectica for comfort-minded Caribbean and Cuban fare. Be warned, there is a constant party going on at this cute restaurant/dance club. Get yourself through the hyper crowd, past the bar, and on toward your table through the galaxy of bright, little lights and Latin music booming from above. Settle in, eat, drink, and have a little fun. The menu is Caribbean and Cuban, (they call it New Miami cuisine) with such offerings a butternut squash soup (make sure you have this sweet light soup), and crawfish cakes (don't bother with this one) with black beans. Starry-eyed lovers clink martini glasses and cuddle in every corner and crevice; party revelers contemplating over their nachos and what may come after. Weekends proffer optimal atmosphere for merrymaking and amorous trysts. Stylish, yet not quite over-the-top party scene. Hip, but mellow. The gritty and bristling character of Cha Cha Cha embodies the Latino spirit. The unpolished, Banana Republic-wearing crowd in their late twenties is fun and friendly, as are the bartenders and staff. There's no frou-frou drink list, but lots of beer and Margarita variety. Deejays spin all the good stuff -- old and new soul, R&B and large-livin Latino sounds that work well with the vibe of the room. Cha cha cha, baby! Reader Reviews Not! I don't know if it's the food, or what. But I always get it. It seems that the waiters also tend to forget you are their customer, and to get service, you have to yell. They'll look at you, then forget about you. Then you have to yell again. |
