| otent martinis, three different themes and a wide selection of muscle boys are the main ingredients here. Don't be fooled by the rainbow flags out front: Babylon is much more Uptown than it is Church Street. If you're looking for the buff-'n'-cruisey scene, go south, young man. But if you're just out for some good, clean, alcohol-tinged fun, stop at Babylon. The brownstone, a three story bar with one huge martini selection, draws a mellow gay/straight neighbourhood mix who know that size matters when it comes to serious martini drinking. Head to the third floor lounge and wait for drinks to be chauffeured in by good looking, buff boys. You wont go thirsty here. The sleek, dimly-lit bar is split into three floors, each floor a different mix. Order a cosmopolitan or something shaken from the collection of 250 martinis. The mint chocolate chip martini is highly recommended, but go easy on the stuff. There's also a good selection of imports and domestic brews. As with any gay bar, Babylon is cruisey. But the place nevertheless aims to be a spot to unwind with a cocktail and enjoy some genuine fun -- and not just the usual stale lounge vibe. Babylon is a formidable force on the Church Street scene. It consistently maintains a "happening atmosphere" and true grit. The scintillating sounds, and cutting edge music enhances this multilevel haven. If you enjoy innovative music, great drinks, in quality and quantity, and beautiful people, Babylon is a great destination. - Jonathan Ray. Review this Place Reader Reviews One of the best Geoff., Toronto Jan., 28, 2002 I'm wondering why there's no mention of Babylon anywhere on your site. This is one of the best martini bars in the city. Great food too, great place to party. Always a great time on the third floor. Great place to have a conversation Peter, Toronto, ON Feb 14, 2002 If you want to go out to a gay bar and actually talk to the person you're with, then Babylon is the best choice. Not a good choice for a pick-up bar 'cos most everyone there comes with a friend or date, but you can enjoy conversation with your friends, large group or small, with prompt table service and staff. Like the other guy said, the third floor is always a great time. If you are 21 to 35ish Terry L., Toronto.
