| Reader Reviews Cheesey guilty pleasures mike, toronto May 19, 2004 Finally a great lounge in a cool part of the city with absolutely no attitude from any of the staff. The music is unlike any other bar in the city. Cheesey guilty pleasures like REO speedwagon and air supply (which remind all the girls of their pre-sexual days) to ac/dc to the theme songs from cheers and the love boat. Awesome eclectic collection of tunes and when this place has a lineup outside it's legitimate (probably the only one in the city). 2 cats, Sandra, toronto May 24, 2004 I will keep this simple. I have never been dissappointed at Cats. It delivers in every way. Enough said. Well done 2 cats- hope you are here to stay! Pina colado December 12, 2003 Stella, Toronto Great music. The guys are really nothing to brag about. The only thing that really catches me, is the music. I could just go there for that. Where else can you find a place that plays Kenny rogers, pina colada song.... The sad part, it never really does pick up in the guy department. A great starter place for an evening out. hot door man 2 CATS, DANIELA I too recently bumped into 2 cats and due to the main fact that the doorman is wow too hot! the people are great and it's a great place to go to get the night started.....i will definetly go back to start my beginning of the night and get another glimpse of that hot door man....had an awesome time and i would recommend everyone who is cool to go there! Doormen Anonomous, Toronto December 3, 2003 Friday is not Friday without rolling into 2 cats around midnight. It's comfortably crowded with a great mix of people. The staff is friendly, (including the cutest busboy in town)and the doormen are never pretentious. And the music - oh nelly - nowhere else can you find a mix like that. I hope 2 cats is around for a long time... Claire and Megan May 8, 2003 I must admit after reading all the previous reviews I was a little skeptical that any bar in toronto could be that good. 2 cats IS THAT GOOD. From the best bartenders in the city to most ecclectic music selection, 2 cats has it all. It is a locals place for sure as my girlfriend and I noticed quickly. One by one people would walk to their respective ends of the bar while shouting hellos to staff and patrons alike. Most didn't even have to specify which drinks they wanted. But an intimidating bunch they are not- the house party analogy is right on. And I think it's amazing that you can order delivery from any resto in the city and have it delivered right to you in your cozy little booth. We were hungry and didn't want to leave- and ended up ordering sushi! What a great idea! I have not one bad thing to say. And I'm sure I don't have to go into detail about how rare that is in this city! Forget West, 2 Cats is the only real reason to come to King St. lose the bouncer Tom J, Toronto April 17, 2003 We have a winner - 2 Cats is the hot spot of the moment. Of all the overhyped new lounges and bars that have recently opened on King West, this is the one that practically delivers on all its promises: hip decor, hip patrons and hip drinks. 2 Cats seems to attract more locals rather than 905ers and unhip bankers that have started to flock to this area. Cool music played at just the right volume - conversation is possible and service with a smile! Just one idea - lose the bouncer, it attracts attention to the place..we don't want it to become TOO popular. Joy Toronto March 20, 2003 2 Cats Cocktail Lounge.....569 King Street West...Great fucking martini bar...all new inside, great nibbles on certain nights like strawberried and chocolate fondue for dipping, yummmm, let me know when you're going I'l meet you there, I'm a two minute stumble away.. Great martinis and they ain't stingy on the sizes either. Good selection of vodkas: very important in a martini bar; ketel one, belvedere, chopin, grey goose and more..good ambience, quaint but hip ya know. Merci tout-le-monde Denice, Toronto March 1, 2003 2 cats is uber cool Cheers, the staff knowing your name and an ambiance not threatening or stilted by drunken louts. Seating, who wants to sit? However in a pinch available... come relax with us. We were particularly impressed by the vivacious Kri, her instant smile and quick service delighted. Several of our friends have commented on the hours being in tune with their hard days at work collapsing under the charms of this simply warm, comfortable place to lay down the matters-less to the more important you that matters. Bravo david s, toronto March 1, 2003 We had heard about cats and finally made it there tonight- what an amazing spot- Very welcoming, almost like a house party. It's cramped at times and the bartenders are busting ass but Cree (sp?) is a star and makes a wicked martini- buy her a drink! The crowd is older and friendly- everyone seems to know someone who knows someone else. The music is eclectic and who would think that Neil Diamond could be cool- He is in this place- A long awaited spot that no one else can match- after one night we are hooked- this is the place that will outlast the flashy competitors. Bravo. S.A. Toronto Feb 9, 2003 Very nice, stylish lounge. We had a birthday party there and the staff was very cool and made sure we had a great time. The vibe-very chill, music good, staff great. We'll be back. amazing sasha toronto Jan 23, 2003 Fantastic venue! We happened upon 2cats on our way to eau and never made it there- We had forgotten what it was like to be able to have a conversation in a bar! The clientel was sensational (beautiful men) and the staff amazing- we are going back! our new hangout ryan, toronto Jan 1, 2003 the perfect place to warm up in and come back to for last call, or stay all night like we did! My friends and I have been waiting for a place like this for a long time- reminiscant of the paddock, but with a modern edge. The bartenders were the two of the friendliest and attractive we have encountered in a long time. Definitely our new hang out - you will miss out if you don't check this place out! kind of familiar looking Dec 15, 2002 m wolfe, Toronto , On. cute! I went on a Saturday around 10 with a few friends, and the people working there were extremely fun and friendly, and kind of familiar looking, the atomosphere was as swank as the review says, everything, but the people all looked like wanna-bes and hairdressers. A good new spot for us. completely sweet. Dec. 15, 2002 N S. Toronto , On. This place is completely sweet. The bartender was fun and seemed to be serving the whole house himself. And little by little it was getting busy. But, a good night all in all. And will definitely go back. lounge vibe. Erfin., Toronto, ON Dec. 14, 2002 Was smaller than I thought, but it was nice looking. I think we went too early as it was not very busy. I like the layout though. It was nice to kick back in those banquettes and soak in the lounge vibe. Write a Review Read All Reader Reviews |
