| The heart of the martini culture is the advent of vodka martinis. Purists won't buy into it, but today's martini can call for gin or vodka. For vodka, many of the recipes beg for the flavoured variety. Ingredients: 6 Part(s) Vodka 1 Part(s) Dry Vermouth Instructions Put cracked ice in cocktail shaker, and then pour the ingredients into it. Stir the ingredients with ice and strain into chilled glass. Garnish with a Lemon Twist or an Olive. Notes Vary the amount of vermouth to suit your tastes. Here's an idea: Spear the olives with a toothpick. Pour some vermouth into a small saucer. Lay the olives atop, turning every once in a while to coat with vermouth. Let stand for a few minutes before adding to the drink. Reader Reviews Easy on the Vermouth Andrew, Toronto, ON Nov. 1, 2001 Dont add vermouth to the drink. Just pour a bit in the shaker, swirl it around, dump it out. Pour in chilled vodka, about 3oz. Add about 1/2 oz chilled water (to your taste) Add the lemon twist one or a couple martini olives. I use M&R vermouth and Ketel One vodka. Goose, Baby! Chris Miller, Toronto, ON Nov. 15, 2001 Shake this baby, not stir, Sir. This is the drink to shake, Jake. Ketel Jane W. Etobocoke, ON Nov. 19, 2001 The only thing which could make this recipe better is Ketel One vodka. If you try this brand in this drink, you wont go back to any other vodka. Olive, Ottawa, ON Nov. 20, 2001 Mix the martini, using your favorite vodka (or Gin) and a quality vermouth. Pour the drink into pre-chilled glasses, and - heres the clinker - add frozen olives. Those olives add a few precious moments to the drink. Add your comments |
