The Dirty Martini is pure rocket fuel made of Gin and vermouth with the cloudiness of the olive brine. This recipe may not be the last word, but it delivers the dirty spirit of the drink.
Ingredients:
6 parts Bombay Sapphire Gin
1 part brine from olive jar
1 drop dry vermouth
4 stuffed green olives
Garnish: 2 Olives
Instructions
Put cracked ice in cocktail shaker, and then pour the ingredients into it. Stir the ingredients with ice and strain into chilled glass. Garnish with a Lemon Twist or an Olive.
Notes:
This is also known as the FDR Martini. Pour some vermouth into a small saucer. Lay the olives atop, turning every once in a while to coat with vermouth. Let stand for a few minutes before adding to the drink.
