    Grapefruit Martini

It's summer: eat some fruit (it helps ward of DT-induced sweats). Pomegranate is still the skinny jeans of the fruit world, though this spring will see lots of citrus. Take the Grapefruit Martini; its aromas of citrus are evident, but subdued. You get the sharpness of the grapefruit, but it's slightly mellowed. This is a martini! It's true, it's pungent, and, best of all, it still tastes like a true martini. Try not to spill (does vodka stain?).

    Ingredients:
    2 parts vodka
    1 part grapefruit juice
    1/2 part (splash) of Cointreau
    Garnish
    slice of grapefruit
Shake Vodka and grapefruit juice in a martini shaker and pour into a cold martini glass. Garnish with a slice of grapefruit. Gin can be used for those who don't like vodka, in which case you would garnish it with a slice of cucumber.
