Sharon Stone Banned From China

s a general rule, actors should not be allowed to speak about politics. While there are a few performers actively involved in political sectors who should be exempt from this rule because the actually have something to say (no, Arnold Schwarzenegger doesn’t count), asking a movie star about politics while they walk the red carpet has got to be one of the stupidest things that a journalist can do. Exactly what makes a celebrity walking into a movie premiere any sort of political expert whose opinion should be trusted? Case in point is Ms. Sharon Stone and her unfortunate shenanigans at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
Speaking to Cable News of Hong Kong about the tragic earthquake the hit China, Stone had this to say: "I'm not happy about the way the Chinese are treating the Tibetans because I don't think anyone should be unkind to anyone else, and then this earthquake and all this stuff happened, and then I thought, is that karma? When you're not nice that the bad things happen to you.” It’s not exactly a well thought out or articulated argument, but it’s certainly an offensive one.
