Possible Spoiler Alert! This leaked Academy Awards winners list, featuring the Academy Winner - Kate Winslet for best actress, Mickey Rourke for best actor and Slumdog Millionaire for best film - could be the real thing. I might be a fraud. Whatever it may be, it springs a surprise by naming Amy Adams as best supporting actress for Doubt. Prior to this leaked document, many had Penelope Cruz favourite in that category. It also claims the best original song award will go to Peter Gabriel for Wall-E, although AR Rahman has two nominations for Slumdog Millionaire.

The Academy has publicly dismissed the document as "a complete fraud", saying auditors PricewaterhouseCoopers were still counting the ballots when it was published online.
According to the list, Danny Boyle will win best director for Slumdog Millionaire, which also wins best cinematography. Heath Ledger is named as best supporting actor for The Dark Knight, and the best adapted screenplay award will go to The Reader. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button wins awards for best costume design and make-up.

The Golden Globes was also at the centre of a supposed leak after a star was placed next to best actress nominee Anne Hathaway's name on the official website two days before the ceremony. However, it turned out to be meaningless as the award went to Kate Winslet.

    Here is the Leaked List:

who cares if it’s real or not, particularly in this predictable a year, anyway? The real betting should be on who the telecast producers have wrangled to be those “top secret” presenters. Oh wait, it seems the big names, those that obviously should be revealed in order to attract their audiences, have also come out.

Heath Ledger is named as the winner of Best Supporting Actor for his performance as The Joker in The Dark Knight. Wow, no one saw that one coming!

Pricewaterhouse is still counting the Academy Awards ballots and there are only two people there who will know the complete list of winners in advance of the envelopes being opened during the ceremony. The Academy's president is not advised of the winners in advance and no such list is created. At least, this is was the Academy Awards people are saying.

It definitely is a fraud because voting only closed 2 days ago and only two employees at Pricewaterhouse Coopers know the results, and the Academy doesn't publish a list.

The Oscars are borderline irrelevant outside the movie critics circles anyway, so society sticks it right back to them.
