Grammys Will Be Spared Picketers, Go On as Usual
By Desmond Carter in Celebrity Buzz
Luckily, music lovers everywhere can delight in the fact that writers strike or no writers strike, the Grammys will go on as usual this year.

A recent announcement by the Writers Guild of America has left many breathing a sigh of relief. Furthermore, many see this move as a step in the right direction of striving towards negotiations and hopefully ending the strike before we’re all subjected to more reality TV than we ever cared to see.

The 50th Annual Grammys will be taking place live on February 10 from the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles. They will be carried by CBS, who expressed their gratitude to the Writers Guild after they stated they would forgo any picketing efforts. As of now, the only confirmed performances will be from Beyoncé and the Foo Fighters. With the recent news that the show won’t be picketed, though, expect other artists to quickly fill the roster.

Leading the nominations this year is Kanye West, with a total of eight. We pray he wins at least one, or we’ll all be forced to sit through watching him make a scene about how us trifling mofo’s have no idea what talent is when they see it. Amy Winehouse closely followed Kanye, garnering six nominations, although who knows if she’ll even be sober enough to board a plane to America. The Foo Fighters, Jay-Z, Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, and T-Pain each earned five noms.

With this news in tow, let’s get ready to see how things play out. With the Golden Globes falling off everyone’s radar, and the Oscars plagued with an uncertain future, take solace in knowing that the Grammys will be business as usual.
