G lobefish has been giving Calgary sushi lovers a food boner for quite some time now. The restaurant was an instant and surprising success. It was only a matter of time before this den of sweet, delicious raw fish would be expanded to share its sweet flavours with ever-growing Calgary foodie scene. Globefish owners Koby Nakamura, Tammy Warabino, and Masa Ota may have changed locations to a bigger venue, but they're bringing along the exact same menu that you know and love.
There are a monstrous amount of dishes on the Japanese tapas-based card, hitting the range of salads and tempura to noodle bowls and sashimi. The one you should probably order first is the Beef Tataki ($8.95); thinly sliced lightly seared Alberta beef steak served with garlic chips, green onion and a heavily-spiced sauce. Beef, in its many forms, is a favourite Globefish ingredient, as is seaweed, both of which appear with sticky rice in the beef teriyaki rolls ($6.95). These inventive rolls were followed to our table by a smoked salmon salad ($8.95), a densely satisfying plate (though, more salmon would have been appreciated), plus a little plate of steamed edamame ($4.95).

1Pretty darn good and service was great. I was there for a business lunch and we had a great appetizer sampler and the mains were done very well!
I am definitely going back with the lady and give it another try, this time with dessert. posted by Trey Fisher 101 days ago | |
