L ocated in one of the hippest damn areas in Vancouver, The Greedy Pig is fast becoming one of the trendiest little restaurants in town. All the key ingredients were in place for it to take off: a location where plenty of interesting and influential people walk by, a menu of affordable gourmet fare, and a drink menu loaded with bourbon (the brownest of the brown liquors). The heat will probably cool on The Greedy Pig soon, but for now if you want to have lunch and not appear like a deutsche bag, this is the place to go.
Chef Sean Sylvestre—who formally stalked the kitchen at Cloppino’s— has put together a rather small menu that may not offer much in the way of choice, but makes up for it with good old fashioned deliciousness. The restaurant specializes in sandwiches like the scrumptious Duck Confit Panini (marinated duck confit, sour cherries and bitter greens) or the Pulled Pork Sandwich, a house specialty. Salads, soups, and various meat plates are also available, but really if your ordering anything here that doesn’t come between two slices of bread, you’re missing out.

1Looking Good. But the fare needs a bit more time. posted by Diane Watson 220 days ago 2The fare, in general, was bland and ordinary. posted by Randy Stelmach 190 days ago | |
