Greek cuisine complete with the heavily accented servers and warm hospitality is offered at Maria’s. The usual greek salad and feta combo is always a choice starter, then an ample serving of carbs (Dr. Atkins dieters beware) including rice, potatoes and pita accompanies your main course be it souvlaki or the infamous kleftiko. Maria’s has a loyal follows in the Kits location, which is obviously due to the relaxing Mediterranean inspired atmosphere (heavy on the requisite blue and white décor) and friendly hospitality. Don’t expect any surprises – if you’re familiar with Aegean-inspired restos this menu is predictable yet reliable.

1Don't order marias Delivery. I made the mistake of ordering spannakopeta and hummus. The spannokopeta was BURNT and the hummus came with ONE piece of cold pitta bread. I called to complain and they had me on hold for an eternity. I do not recommend this restaurant. posted by Angela 238 days ago 2This was by far the worst dining experience I've ever had in my life. The food was ok but the service was horrible. The worst part of our dining experience was when we asked for a manager at the end of our meal. Apparently there was no manager on site and when our waitress found out we wanted to talk to a manager she came fuming down to our table and started getting mad at the fact that we would even want to complain about the horrible service we just got.
It was a busy Friday night when we got there so we decided to be patient with our server at first but it took 20 minutes for the wine we ordered to get to our table and another 15min for the appetizers to finally arrive. When I asked why the people behind me already had their main course when we were there before them, our waitress explained that a fuse blew up on their printer (which doesn't explain why we were the only ones still waiting for our food and why it took so long for the wine to reach our table). Then she continued to ignore us when we kept trying to get her attention for more sauce for our appetizer. The bartender finally noticed us after we held the sauce container up in the air and got the sauce for us. Another 20 minutes passed before we finally had our meal. I was given the name of the manager and was told to call the next day but each time I called the person on the other end kept saying that there was no manager and that they would take my name and number down and call me back, but they never did.
I wouldn't have mind it so much if the food took long as long as the staff was courteous and that the manager would actually talk to us. I've eaten at alot of restaurants in my life but this is by far the worst treatment I've ever recieved anywhere. Our waitress was rude and had no customer service skills whatsoever. She wasn't apologetic and actually went and talked to the other servers (I'm assuming about us) while they stared at our table. I would never consider going back there again and I just wrote this to warn people about this restaurant. It's bad enough that they treated us so bad after spending nearly $100 on a meal for two but the manager or owners didn't even feel the need to apologize or make us feel better about how we were treated.
I have never complained about a restaurant before but I guess there is a first time for everything. If you want to be treated with respect and not given the run around or lied to, then Maria's Taverna is not the place to go.
