At first glance, the location of Benelux will perplex you. Situated under the towering, rounded apartment building a few blocks east of St-Laurent, and next door to a dry cleaners - you’d never imagine there to be anything interesting behind the bar’s glass doors.
The moment you walk in, you forget where you are. The décor, the atmosphere and the great play between light and dark will catch your eye. The furniture and walls are dark and warm, while the maze of exposed pipes dangling above are painted sky blue and the wall of floor to ceiling windows allows the lights of busy Sherbrooke Street to pour in. But most importantly, that’s not the only pouring that’s going on here. Benelux is a grown up beer aficionado's dream come true.

1Nice diversified menu of homebrews, cool staff. The coffee's great and with free internet access its a good stop to wrap up your day from 3 to 5PM. After 5, the ambience swings more on the pub side of things with live projections of hockey matches and occasionnal events. Crowd is relaxed beer lovers, although a full stocked bar can get you that drink or scotch fix. Try the Espressstout, a shot of chilled espresso in a pint of stout beer... posted by Francois 234 days ago | |
