Behind every name, there’s a good story. Lucky for us, Baldwin Barmacie makes no exception. At the frontier of three notorious neighbourhoods; Plateau, Mile-End and Outremont, “Baldwin Barmacie” replaces the “Minuit Bar” spot, not only with a fresh name but also with a sentimental history.
Baldwin is nothing less than the last name of Mr. Alexandre, the proprietor of the new lounge on Laurier Street. The Barmacie term is homage to his very much alive grandmother, one of the two ladies who raised him. Back in the days, a younger Alexandre was probably spending most of his Sundays running in the alleys of the Mile-End pharmacy where his grandmother used to work, corner of St-Laurent and St-Viateur (now the Esperanza café). That era of his life gave him the original idea of making an entire bar like an authentic pharmacy. A complex and trendy concept that made him soon realize that it wouldn’t probably appeal to people in real life, as much as it does in theory.

Not expensive at all compared to other bars and lounges-try finding a place that charges you only 8$ for a martini!!
Cosmo Royale is a must have..
