| 1 repliesMcKibbins Irish Pub
When owners Rick Fon, Dean Laderoute and Brent Laderoute embarked on their first foray into the bar biz, they had one clear objective - create a watering hole where everyone feels at home. The resulting McKibbin’s Irish Pub now far surpasses that goal. This party emporium offers something for everyone far beyond a hearty Irish welcome.
The McKibbin’s moniker is tribute to the Laderoute’s emerald isle ancestors, especially their great-grandmother Ethel McKibbin. The story of her family’s 1912 emigration here is testament to the” luck of the Irish.” Aboard the Lusitania, (the civilian ship later torpedoed by the Germans,) young Ethel was rescued by a cook when she slid beneath a railing. More luckily, however is the fact that the McKibbin’s had originally booked passage a week earlier on another ship, namely the Titanic, but canceled due to a family member’s illness.

1What a great pub. I loved it. Toronto has alot of pubs, but nothing quite like this. Wow, the decor is fantastic. The band was "Sona" and they were great. We went for a bite and ended up eating a meal. The food was really good. I usally posted by Sean Doyle 625 days ago | |
