B etter befitting plush-accustomed sud sippers than hobos, this former bank turned Village Manor Family pub spans two floors and two patios, including an excellent, vista-providing rooftop. Like its nearby cousin, the Madison, Pauper's has a maroon banquette and polished wood aesthetic. During the school year, the joint is rife with baseball cap boys and their jeans-clad concubines, while its outdoor spaces draw summer droves. The menu is almost exactly the same as the Maddy, leaning heavily upon standard pub fare. With myriad draughts, a well-stocked rail, upstairs piano entertainment, and a multitude of nooks, Pauper's is a consistently popular Annex haunt. -S.T.
