T he G Clef Jazz Bar boogied out of the Wellington space long ago and Pravda Vodka Bar, along with 70+ varieties of the Russian libation, moved in this past summer.
I suggest you follow the revolution and join the party (provided it’s not communist). Hopefully the beloved Happy Hour drink specials and free appetizers also turn up in the new joint. Open now. -E.J.

1If you like a little attitude served up with your vodka, than Pravda is the place for you. Not only are drinks totally over priced, but you are lucky if you can get the bartenders attention to get served.
As for the patrons, even more attitude all around. It's that to cool for school attitude from less than average Joes + Janes. Wow needs/wants that when you are out to have good time?
I gave this bar 3 chances on different nights and left feeling totally ripped off. The old location seemed to have a much friendlier vibe. posted by nicole 302 days ago 2Any association with "the" Pravda in NYC? Do they serve caviar, etc? posted by Geoff Flo 299 days ago 3I went to this place last Saturday - Had to wait 20mins at the door before being let in, then found the place half empty. The music was way too loud, and the DJ plain awful. Now, music is a matter of taste, but this guy couldn't mix, total garbage. I ordered a Jack Daniels & Coke (yeah I know it's a vodka bar) which came in a tiny glass filled mostly with ice. The balance between the JD and Coke was totally off - I might as well have ordered a JD on the rocks. Yuck! Next drink was a Lychee Martini, priced at $11 bucks. Yet another disappointing drink, bland in taste and not worth the premium price. I noticed the customers were mainly Indians. Now, I have no problems with Indians but I do prefer a more mixed crowd on a night out. All in all a bit disappointing and I shall not be returning to this overpriced and pretentious place. posted by DoubleTrouble 159 days ago | |
