Whiskey Town

Whiskey Town, a new bar in the East Village, wants to rock and roll all night and party ev-a-ry day, or at least until 4am, which is good enough for me. The bar plays – you guessed it – rock and roll, and serves – you guessed it – whiskey. It serves a lot of other alcohol too, but “Assorted Beer and Liquor Town” just doesn’t have the same ring. Although if that town existed, I’d live there.



The full service bar, in addition to a variety of premium liquors, also serves a large assortment of beers – not on tap, not in bottles, but in cans. That’s right, all the beers come in cans. And not because it’s become über-hip to ironically will cans of Pabst Blue Ribbon, either. Rather, it’s a way to keep every beer on ice without the label gumming up and falling off (which, I must admit, is pretty terrible). Shotgunning your beer isn’t only allowed, it’s encouraged.
