Kurve has been a long time coming. Co-owner and Chef Andy Yang, also of Rhong-Tiam, has faced so many long delays in the construction of the new Pan-Asian bistro, that he may have accidentally built up more hype than he is able to live up to. But, having finally made its debut, Kurve is ready and willing to prove itself.
Despite the impressive tapas menu of Eastern and Western delicacies, it is perhaps Kurve's design that is its most arresting feature. And for good reason; the space has been designed by Karim Rashid. Aside from his many prestigious awards and placements in the permanent collections of museums, Rashid has quite a pedigree in interior design. Among his biggest achievements are Philadelphia mega-restaurant Morimoto and the award-winning Semiramis Hotel in Athens. But nowadays he stays put in New York City, and Yang is glad for it.
