Though missing the “Pa”, most people can still appreciate the quality pastries and sandwiches that come out of the Harrars’ patisserie despite the “cutesy” moniker. The native Venezuelan baking boys have graced their art on the New York scene after much success in their South American hometown. Sweet treats with just the right amount of fruit glaze, icing sugar, or chocolate dip can either be muched on in-house (for brunch, lunch or dinner) or taken home for a wonderful surprise to your loved ones (I’m sure even you’re cat or dog would appreciate them if you aren’t children-inclined).
Some notable mentions (believe me, pretty much everything is a notable mention) include the Fraisier – a heavenly strawberry shortcake style dessert with a sticky vibrant glaze and loads of the sweet fruit within – or the Napoleon that has more presence than that tiny French general ever had. Make sure you have dental insurance before entering.
