T he vacancy of fresh white walls has been said to inspire creativity. There is nowhere this mantra could be more true then at Anita Lo’s new Greenwich Village restaurant, Bar Q. The moniker is one “b” shy of the American southern survival cuisine, Bar-B-Q and rightly so. Lo has finally, after six years of hatching the egg, brought her American-Chinese fusion cuisine idea to fruition. The result is an appetizing and interesting menu of Asian BBQ and fresh raw bar.
The gleaming white interior from the walls to the booths to the wood detailing provides a fresh backdrop to Lo’s innovative cuisine. To think of pairing pork cheeks with watermelon, tea-smoking meat, and serving ribs of tuna on the bone salted and smothered with green chili takes some serious talent in the kitchen.

1My guests loved BarQ for the beautiful room and spectacular service.
I, however, thought the service was stuffy and the food wasn't worth the money. posted by Andi Teran 130 days ago 2I'm a bit of a BBQ snob so I was nicely surprised to have found one of the best ever at BarQ, while we were in town. If you're in NYC, don't miss this place for a worthy BBQ pleasure. posted by Brandon Daniels 96 days ago | |
