T o dovetail is to come together harmoniously; an act that NYC patrons will no doubt be experiencing at the new Upper West Side hot spot, Dovetail. Owner and chef, John Fraser, is hell-bent on bringing back sherry and afternoon tea at Dovetail, which is fine by us as long as Fraser’s mom stays out of it.
London comfort food like lamb meatloaf and Brussels sprout salad hasn’t been seen on a menu at a new NYC restaurant for ages, a fact that may make or break Fraser’s venture. Let’s hope it dovetails nicely. –J.T.

1I'm not sure how comfortable I am to be the first one not to give Dovetail a perfect rating, especially since the food tasted so great, and I really liked the layout. I just don't think the Tasting Menu/Wine Pairing was on par with the price. I also thought that the service was not exceptional- I'm kind of a stickler for eye contact. However, when one is trying to justify why a restaurant received 3 stars instead of 4, you are in for a truly great dining experience. posted by Bob Strong 262 days ago 2A beautiful combination of unexpected tastes. Everything we had was very good to exceptional. Nothing disapointed. I say this all in my capacity as a self proclaimed food snob. posted by Howard 207 days ago | |
