Whereas the lovely Greek Goddess of whom this restaurant was eponymously named after was punished with a yearly 6-month term in the underworld and marriage to a dead guy, this dining experience will be more than rewarding for diners willing to take a risk on Greek cuisine.
After 20 years of success at the Chelsea stationed Periyali, owners Steve Tzolis and Nicola Kotsoni are opening a new resto to Upper East Side Greek cuisine fans in the former Retsina space. Remnants of Retsina will be available on the menu where the ancient Greek wine will no doubt make an appearance. Opening September 2007.
