If you're not ready to get cute, then stop reading. Sushi King has been deposed; also, the Sono rises. Teeth hurt? Me too. Replacing a sushi place with a, um, sushi place, Sushi Sono opens on Desser (sorry, I mean Hayden) street in late January. The sign maker has little work to do. -S.T.

1The fish wasn't very fresh... as though it were all premade the night before. However, very friendly staff~ posted by Dennis Barker 625 days ago 2i went with my parents because we happend to know the owners:) and although i am young i have quite the palate for sushi. we ordered the 50 piece set and the waiter was very kind and polite even after i split many things. she offered to fill my miso soup bowl at regular intervals and was very polite. the food was top notch. the sushi was fresh and smooth the maki was spicy and powerful and the unagi was sweet and delicious. the food was very fairly priced and the place, although small had a very strong charm. although seating was limited, we were all able to sit comfortably. i love this restaurant and i would definitely want to eat here regularly posted by Walter Yoo 585 days ago 3One of the best and most authentic Japanese sushi restaurants in the city. Host is Japanese, sushi chefs are Japanese, servers are Japanese with Japanese accents and polite Japanese mannerisms. posted by Gregg Finch 105 days ago 4The only sushi restaurant we go to on a regular basis. The fish is above average and the portions are perfectly sized. Definitely not the best sushi I've had, but Sushi Sono is the perfect combination of good food, consistency, and convenience. posted by Simon Dent 95 days ago 5Been working in Toronto for the last 2 weeks and I've eaten here 4 times already. What more can be said? The fish is extremely fresh and the hot spicy veggie soup is amazing. Plus other Asian people eat there so you KNOW it has to be good.
Forgot to say...sometimes it takes awhile to get a table, so go early or make a reservation. The homies will thank you for it. posted by Randy Edmonds 93 days ago | |
