Crimes of the Heart :: May 8 – May 24
ust from the name, certain images come to mind – a young women with tears streaming down her cheek, a man uttering passionate lines to his lover, drama, rage, emotion, passion… If it weren't a Pulitzer Prize winner, I wouldn't even need to see it because I would know what happens. If you love steamy romance novels – my personal favourite is the classic, Don't Die, My Love (so shallow it was deep, so bad it was amazing) – and revel in a good cry from a show or book with emotion but no substance… that's not what you're going to get with this show. It's a story of three sisters from Mississippi who reunite after the youngest is released on bail after murdering her abusive husband. Although the name implies fluff, the tale is seriously well written by Beth Henley, and the characters are meticulously interwoven to support each other and develop a riveting plotline. – M.K.
