Bard on the Beach :: May 29 – Sep. 27
hen Bill Shakespeare is summoned up in the mind’s eye, beach balls and bikinis are usually out of the picture. Luckily, Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival is highly unusual. A 520-seat performance tent is set up on the beach for players to act out Twelfth Night, King Lear, The Tempest and Titus Andronicus this season. BBQ, wine and fireworks are also on the roster making the BBSF a must-see on everyone’s summer hit list. Dig out your favourite feathered chapeau and brush up on your old English. Shakespeare’s hitting the beach. –J.T.
