Nixon The Sentry
By Sylvonna Beech
leek sophistication meets functionality in this stainless steel/rubber band watch. Retailing for $120, The Sentry features a stainless steel covering with the newest in bands- textured polyurethane. You may be thinking that rubber doesn’t exactly meet your classy needs- but have no fear. The watch maintains its sophistication with the streamlined design and classic features.
The analog face is simple yet modern, with a very clean look. The only problem is that if you’re not great at telling time on the go, this could become an embarrassing issue. The watch offers tiny slashes instead of numbers, so be prepared for the odd “Uhh…I mean 4:30, not 5:30.”
The watch features a double gasket crown, 100M of water resistance, and is made with hardened mineral crystal. Sounds fancy enough, right? While the black watch is the most sophisticated in my opinion, the other colors provide that extra spice you may have been looking for. Especially sharp looking is the deep green style, which adds just the right combination of elegance and modernism. The brown Sentry has a more James Bond feel than the rest, with its deep brown band and black face. The watches may just have you saying your last name first, following up with your first, which should be slightly accentuated, and then last again. Come on, give it a try the next time you order something with your credit card. You know you’ve always wanted to.
