 his is the story of an epilogue: when Vancouver’s Olympic Games finally conclude and the torch is snuffed out – though not before the lighting of post-event, athlete-mocking cigarettes – and the Mrs. Dalloway-evoking construction boom ends, what will become of all the hard hats? Not to worry, there are other projects on the horizon. One of the most notable is the recently announced construction of the ParaYso Hotel (the purchase and sale of 620 Seymour Street just came in at a cool $5,500,000).
Taking up residence at 620 Seymour Street in the financial district, the will-be 14-story ParaYso is eyeing a 2011 opening and will not break ground until summer, 2009 at the earliest.
A Rancho Santa Monica Developments, Inc. project, the luxury hotel will boast 91 suites, a rooftop bar, and an haute dining destination. With Sean Sherwood (Fiction, Century) on board as its Director of Operations and Graham Alexander set to develop , the ParaYso should be innovative and chic.
Furthermore, PY will mollify the environmentally conscious – isn't that everyone now? – by including solar and other green-happy technology in its design. | | |
