s much as we enjoy mango and papaya year round, many people try to block out the idea that this fruit comes from a rural South American town where we have no clue what the working conditions are, and big companies tend to over-pesticide their crops. Don't suffer from this lack of confidence again. At the Sweetgrass market, one vendor imports fresh fruit from strictly family farms in South America. This is just one of the soon to be 10 specialty food merchants in this 10,000 square foot market. Look out for other vendors selling East African influenced-Indian takeout, more than three hundred varieties of cheese, fresh baked bread, and a tea shop, managed by two teenagers (their brother runs The Candy Kid, a candy store in the market). -C.S.
