West Gets a New Chef
ancouver's epicurean firmament continues to brighten. Following the city's recent acquisition of superstar spatula wielder, Daniel Boulud, another big-draw restaurant has hired a high-profile chef.
Warren Geraghty (Warren G?) takes over the stoves at West. Coming from a west of different sorts, Geraghty formerly worked in London's West End. Previously the Executive Chef at Soho's L’Escargot, he brings a wealth of experience to the popular haute dining spot on Granville. Geraghty takes over from the outgoing David Hawksworth who has moved on to Hotel Georgia's kitchen.
With an international CV, Geraghty has a malleability that should placate West's demanding clientele. Furthermore, with BC's wealth and diversity of high-quality area produce, he should reinvigorate the resto with an innovative touch. -S.T. | If you enjoyed this article, you should also check out | | Vancouver Gets Bold wih Boulud [Full Story] | | Waxy O'Connor's Irish Pub expands to South Beach [Full Story] | | Terroir deghts the East Village [Full Story] | | Restaurant Trends: Are Numbers the New Black?
