I do sort of pity Green Day. Round about 1995 these boys made it big with their massive hit When I Come Around and have been coasting on that meagre song's success ever since. I will say this: Green Day was the first of a long roster of pre-fab, sell-out punk rock bands to bust out on the music scene, so, for better or worse, they are influential. Blink 182, Sum 41, and Good Charlotte have followed in these black-haired boys' footsteps much to the chagrin of so-called real music lovers, but what is real music anyway, now that Michael Jackson is dead? Anyway, like many people of my generation, I still possess a well-worn copy of Green Day's seminal pop punk teenage angst-fest, Dookie. And, like many people of my generation, I see the current Green Day press photos and think, "really?". Really, guys? Seriously? Still, I hope you all have the time of your lives tonight. Green Day Play GM Place tonight (Sat. Jul. 4). E.H and R.T.

First of all the first big hit of Green day was longveiw , then it was basketcase to launch dookie! This I know because i saw them in a bowling ally in north van!(also say green day in boise and seattle)

You probley never wrote a song in your life! and have the dookie album cause your friends did and ur a follower.
The band had 2 prior albums to dookie, the slappy hours and kerplunk (amazing albums).
I am 30 years old have been deep into punk since i was 13.
you can can try listening to the foxboro hot tubs (the bands true passion);however, they are still giving green day fans what they want via green day..
Please do some research before writing, and may i ask what u have accomplished???
