Apple Rumoured to Release 3G iPhone

If you’re sick of slow download times on your iPhone, join the club. The phone that was to revolutionize mobile communications has a plethora of amazing functions but one huge caveat took the product down a notch – no 3G compatibility. This means that downloading web pages and music would take longer and decrease the streamlining of data. Sort of stupid, considering that the iPhone was designed to take advantage of the Internet and make it accessible on a large-screened mobile phone.
So far, Apple is keeping mum on the release date of the phone. Last year, CEO Steve Jobs stated that a 3G model would probably be released sometime in late 2008 (talk about being vague). Pundits are predicting that the device update could be released as soon as June or July. The predictions may prove to be true though, as it has been reported that Apple recently finalized a deal with German chipmaker Infineon Technologies to supply parts for the next-generation model. With a 3G model, more applications could be created specifically for the iPhone, meaning that the products usefulness would greatly increase.
Devotees of the iPhone would also surely flock to stores and pick up the latest product. After all, what else is Apple good for than releasing new versions of its most popular products several months after you’ve invested in the now-inferior model? In which case, you may want to hold off if you were about to fork over some C-notes for the de rigueur mobile of the moment.
