    Twisted Fork, you have to admit, is a great name for a restaurant. It would also be a great name for a band, or a pasta brand, or a cutlery company, or a jewelry line that only made pieces out of twisted forks. That would be cool.

    The narrow, cozy bistro has a faux-fur banquet along one wall, thin, naked wooden tables, and simple cutlery and dishes. Also along one wall is an eye-catching range of pickled vegetables and fruits.

    The menu feautres the standard French bistro fare – moules frites, duck confit – but also welcome additions like fried frog legs and a gruyère and onion tart with pear walnut chutney. A lavender creme brulee is said to be a large portion: enough for two to share at the end of a romantic, low-key dinner.

    The co-owners, Mike and Andrea Leslie, and co-owners and executive chef, Corey Sullivan, spend seven years running The Wood restaurant in Fernie, one of the busiest ski resorts in BC. (There are photographs from artists based in Fernie on the walls.)

    Awesome brunch, reasonable prices, not too busy and great bottomless coffee for $3! Will definitely be back!

    GREAT staff, immediate greeting, the wine was excellent, the beef carpaccio was a little stringy but I loved the smokey flavor. The surprise dessert was a nice touch. nice place to relax and have a drink and a bite. Loved teh twisted fork concept.

    Pretty good fare. Nothing exceptional. Reasonably priced. Waiting time is way too long.

    It took me a while to take up my friends recommendation to have the brunch, when i finally did i was kicking myself for not going sooner. 5 egg fritatta for $10? I'd say there was about half a pound of chicken on my benny when i went again. the fact that they have bottomless french press coffee for 3 dollars is great too. the brunch i pretty much the best breakfast deal overall in the city, and the blue fence special selection is fantastic. nightly specials too!
    any one who didn't enjoy their experience here was trying way too hard not too.
    go now!

    great food, great prices, great service. I dont ask for much more. then they offer ten dollars off per bottle of already well priced wines on mondays and have a blue fence special during granville street construction. I will be back!

    I had been to Twisted Fork in Vancouver three times and even though the ambience and environment can be appealing during the evening, definitely a place to stay away from during the busy brunch period. The food quality at this place, at least for dinner seemed to be impressive and mostly due to the fresh local ingredients with a decent BC wine menu. Desserts are quite fabulous. We were absolutely disappointed and turned off during the day time experience.
    Even though the menu will attract you with lofty descriptive, don’t be fooled mentally and trust your taste buds. All of the items that we ordered tasted fine, but really would mingle with the dining experience of a Denny’s or family chain of restaurant. After a 50 minute wait for our food and already mediocre service, we were thankful for the bill. Consider for dinner, but think again for brunch. With the variety of spots up and coming in Vancouver, this is definitely one that we gave a shot, but in the end became a disappointment.

    This place has become my favourite place to just lounge about and eat good, comforting food. The staff and owners are all fantastic - I've been back about four times since I first went, and each time I've had a fantastic experience. The Lavender creme brulee was wonderful, and perfect to share. I've been recommending the place to everyone I know, and all of them have returned to me with glowing reviews. Like a previous reviewer said, you would feel as comfortable there in a gown as you would in jeans and a t-shirt.

    Definitely a place to try . Had the braised beef and it was very good. The serving is just right. They have a Dine in menu, $25 , you can to pick one appetizer, main course, and dessert! The dessert is definitely a must. One of the best creme brulee i have tasted in the city.

    ...forgot to mention
    Good news:
    NO televisions anywhere in sight.
    if I see one in a dining establishment, let alone a bar,
    it's a deal-breaker for me.
    cheers.

    I had heard about this recently opened place and was somewhat leery about a joint on Granville, just off Davie.
    Not exactly an expensively appointed room;
    yet the proprietors understand decorating on a budget;
    nice deep red walls, a changing wallscape from local artists
    but its the attentive service and GREAT food that won me over.
    And cheap too!
    Go.
    Now.

    Complaints?
    The art is hung way too high, making the room feel a bit uncomfprtable,
    spot lighting should be bounced off the beams and walls,
    not off the clientele.

    Food
    hearty share plates from $8
    wines from $7
    and I hear from other visitor the desserts are incredible.
    They offer weekend brunch too.

    see you there!

    I had the most amazing mussels at this place! I have no idea how they make them so good, and how exactly they give you a pound of them for around 13 dollars. The place is so relaxing, and I would feel comfortable in a pair of jeans or an evening gown. Service was great, supper friendly. Defiantly a hidden gem of Vancouver!
