ituated right by the harbour, The Mill Marine Bistro offers one of the best patios in town—you can find a myriad of umbrella tables spread across the 350 foot long dock. You can’t ask for a better place to enjoy a bucket of wings and a pint of one of the mill’s original brews. With cheeky names like the mill snakebite—a strongbow with GIB lager and cassis or the mill shandy, a GIB lager and 7 UP with citrus vodka will surely leave you more hung over than you regularly would. –A.C.

2 Reader Reviews | what an awesome patio!!
I was down at the Mill Marine Bistro the other day at the advice of some of my friends and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. Like many people I know, I had no idea where it was but when I found this hidden coal harbour gem, I felt like I was home! The 200 seat patio was like a big summer party at the park with the most spectacular view of the harbour and north shore mountains. The tourists must LOVE this place! We tried a few appies ( nachos, mussels and peel 'n' eat prawns) and they were some of the best I've ever had in this city. We had more than a couple of pitchers of Red Truck Lager, a bunch of frozen Lynchburg Lemonades and even a couple of strongbows on tap. After about two and a half hours the sun started to set and we started getting our appetite back, so we decided to try a few entrees. I had a salmon burger with oven baked home fries ( my favorite) and it was delicious! My friends had pizzas and while they were all good ( love the crust ) my favorite would have to have been the chicken pesto. Huge strips of oven roasted chicken breast, pesto sauce, asiago and mozzarella cheeses and a sprinkle of green onions. My friend kept slapping my hand away!!!
Lastly, I have to mention that the staff at the mill was absolutely lovely and our server made us feel very comfortable and we never once had to look for her when we needed something, she was always one step ahead of us. I will be back again and again to the mill sharing my little secret patio with my friends though I don't think this secret will last very long. Top notch!
