After 29 years in business the award winning Caffé dé Medici will be shutting its doors. Simply by virtue of being around for so long, the café became somewhat of a Robson Street institution, one that served up quality food and wine seven days a week.

However, owners Steve and Dean Punzo won't be out of work for long. While in business at Caffé dé Medici, the brothers established a new chain of coffee shops called Take 5 Café. This chain will replace the old café. Expect European style coffees, healthy breakfast options, gourmet sandwiches, wraps, salads, and deserts. In other words, they're sucking out all the personality of the spot and turn it into your run-of-the-mill coffee shop. Fantastic. – R.T.
