Cousins buys organic as much as possible and, unlike the self-conscious Raincity Grill or C, So. cial does its thing with little fanfare or pretense. So. Cial's greatest challenge will be merging a friendly but corporate business sense with Cousins's refined-farmer cooking genius, though, so far, so good. -R.B.

I convinced a group of friends to try So.cial this past weekend; I had had a lovely experience on my first visit.

We knew to expect 20+ per entre. The service was friendly & fairly knowledgeable but our meals were very slow to arrive - we had
7:30pm reservations & were served our main meals after 9:30pm. In addition we had a nice booth - but it looked directly into the galley bar which is NOT set up nicely to be viewed during dinner.

We specifically asked about the "market price" menu note on the beef - our waitress replied that it was not really "market price" it was really a set price per oz. She neglected to tell us "how much per oz" and we were SHOCKED to find that a 10oz Tenderloin was $52.50!!!

Three days later I am still angry that we were not warned that we were about to pay more for beef @ this fairly understated restaurant than we would have @ the most expensive & best beef restaurants in town!

*** 10$ more than the filet mignon @ Gotham
    *** 3$ more than the steak & lobster @ Morton's

Here's a suggestion to ensure your customers go away happy:
1 PUT YOUR PRICES ON YOUR MENU or
2 WARN YOUR CUSTOMERS OF YOUR OUTRAGEOUS HIDDEN PRICES

oh & put a big door on the bar so people don't have to spend their whole time looking @ the garbage cans & shelving.

Dining out in So.cial at Le Magasin was the worst experiece we have ever been. The food was not satisfying.
Well, the waiters are trying their best to keep up with busy nite. But there is one guy, particularly, who is the receptionist/host/whatever (he's standing who assign the table--wearing light shirt whereas the other waitress were in black).

He kept on shaking head and impolitely say that we have to leave soon because of the next reservation will come shortly. We ate our food as fast as we could, but he kept on coming, shaking head, and pointing at his watch, a sign for us to be hurry and leave.
    It was already very unaccepted,...

When we try to talk to him politely to let him know we're not happy about it, he was plainly not listening and kept saying "I don't understand, I don't know what you mean"...
    He did not apologize!

    This attitude is very unaccepted.
There was no respect at all.

We would never come again. It's for sure!

Obviously, he needs to educate himself how to treat ANY customer in ANY situation, or he will make the So.cial keep losing customers.
