    Review by Jennifer Toole
Seb’s Market Café is Chef Francois Godbout’s culinary baby, next to his son, the café’s namesake, Sebastian. After putting in over ten years in the restaurant world learning the ins and outs and becoming a chef in the meantime, Godbout decided he was ready to venture out on his own. Seb’s Market Café is the result and it has been a success since its opening in 2003.

The café serves up a hearty breakfast menu a la Godbout. Uncommon luxuries like seared elk medallion eggs benedict with chipotle-wild berry hollandaise sauce ($9.50) surprise the unsuspecting bruncher. I’ll let you discover the chicken popsicles and peasant sandwiches for yourself, but do be tempted, even if they do sound strange. They’ll feel right at home on your taste buds.

The café is also a retail shop for everything kitchen. Pots and pans by Cuisinox and appliances by Breville are available for the die-hard cook. Who doesn’t need a $500 coffee maker anyway? To top it all off, Godbout also caters events from his lunch dinner, breakfast and brunch menus. At your next board meeting I suggest you order in a box of chicken popsicles for everyone. They’ll be talking about you for years. –J.T.

I feel like I'm giving away a great fishing hole by writing this. Seb's is Vancouver's best kept secret. Do yourself a favour and swing by for breakfast. The turkey sausage will change your life and the service is great without being cheezy and annoying. Just friendly and attentive.

This has got to be one of Vancouver's best kept secrets! The food is absolutely amazing. The lamb shank literally fell off the bone, and the chocolate bread pudding was enough to send you to heaven and back!
