  • Sciue Italian Bakery Caffe

Downtown residents were thrilled when Sciue Italian Bakery Caffe opened at Howe & Pender. Scuie (pronounced Shoo-ey) means 'good and fast' in Italian, and although still new, delivers with good food and fast service.

We flock to the shop not simply for the gooey goodness that makes us want some more, but for the pyro-fantastic delight of they call “Italian street food”, and because there is no experience quite like bonding over a breakfast pizza with scrambled eggs.

If it's breakfast you want, they have ciambella, little orange-spiked donuts, or breakfast buns filled with scrambled eggs, pancetta, and cheese. No? Well come a little later for the panini. - R.B.

What an amazing place - great people coorful characters behind the counter - a real oringinal concept and don't even get me started on the food...Pane Romano and the other stuff is just tasty. Finally, a cafe with real coffee and a unique take on the whole cafe experience, plus I like the fact I can get a glass of wine with my eats! I did notice it was a more well heeled crowd, for lack of a more original expression.
I am now going there now about 2 - 3 times a week, and yes, I am learning to be patient as I wait in line...but the payoff makes it woth the wait!
