To keep euphoric, grab a Guinness for only $6 or choose from a Grasshopper, Honey Brown Ale, specialty teas, coffee or juice. Everything is under $10 and beats most other places for taste. The rookie café is an all-around joy, it can only get better once the live music, and performances get going. - L.H.

4 Reader Reviews | Hi!
Well, after only having been in your area for just under 7 days, I just did not get the time to pop into your place and get a feel of it!
Main problem was that I was in Vancouver on business, all of which was in downtown.
I remember looking wistfully at the Rhizome while walking from the Howard Johnson hotel, to catch the Skytrain at Main St!
Just the front of the place caught my attention (you know, the funky-ish paint scheme etc!).
As I write this, it si Sunday the 27th April, it's pouring down with rain and my flight out of BC is in the morning!
Who knows, I may be back very soon and will then make a date with you guys!
I'll carry a picture of the Rhizome in my mind, to London, UK, in the meantime! PS I gave you 4 star ratings anyway!

I hope this place sticks around. It marries all the things that I care about: vegetarian tasty food, politics, community, art, comfort, and happy owners/servers...I look forward to many visits there.

The food is excellent, the location is great, the atmosphere & space is huge & airy. I've dropped by later in the evening & they serve a wicked martini. Brunch is fantastic, one of the better I've had in the 'hood. I would highly recommend it. As well, they have a cool meeting space for various groups & different events happening throughout the month - make sure you get put onto their email distribution list!
