We started with a Thyme Roasted Baby Beet Salad ($8), which, despite the name, contained a surprising lack of beets. Mostly a sea of mixed greens. Thankfully, the generous wheel of baked Saltspring Island Goat Cheese saved the day, and the lemon vinaigrette dressing was flavourful but understated.
We continued with Chili Garlic Prawn Lollipops ($8; huge, juicy, and sweet like candy! Mmm!) For a main course, I gambled on the Baby Shrimp Risotto ($8; with spinach and parmesan cheese) and was not disappointed.
The Pomegranate Crème Caramel with fruit and crème fraiche ($6), from the dessert list, was neither sweet nor saccharine, but surprisingly tart and sour. A great choice of dessert that showcases the exotic roots of the fruit.
