et on your Southern drawl and head down to Vancouver’s premier New Orleans restaurant. Did you know that it was the French who started up Cajun and Creole, but the Acadians capitalized on their recipes, adding more spices from wild plants when they headed down to the Americas? It’s true. Of course, the Spaniards, Africans and Native Americans placed their input as well. At Ouisi, they stick to their roots and even serve the Gator Bite—a house marinated, farmed Louisiana alligator served with Cajun tartar. To help down that croc, consuming some of their brews, bourbon and single malts may help. –A.C

Really enjoy and appreciate the setting and the friendly staff. The food however has less to be desired. Almost all and every dish has the grassy flavored of oregano sprinkled on it. Even though they use wild salmon and some good ingredients flavours are destroyed with too much spice or just plain and bland. I have never had a good dish here and I ate often
