The Lower Mainland resto has enjoy such success at the Surrey location that they are spreading their Indian cuisine to Broadway with a second location. Lamb kebabs, fish tikka, and Tandoori Prawns will be making a presence on this menu, as well as the famed Mahek dinner that includes all the traditional Indian favourites. –E.J.

I went to Cafe Mumbai last week with some friends. The food was excellent, service was great and the decour very good (modern and Indian). I spoke with one of the owners and he explained that they sold the Mahek in surrey and had many customers pushing them to open on Broadway, I'm glad they did! We love Tandoori Kitchen (Original Tandoori King) food is the best I've ever tasted, but they badly need to fix up the restaurant (complete over-haul).

Cafe Mumbai has a great atmosphere and the prices are very reasonable. I will rate them number one in overall experience!

LOL Paul Mann should have done a bit more homework.

The Mahek/Cafe Mumbai on Broadway is owned and operated by the ORIGINAL owners/founders of Mahek in Surrey - the Saini Brothers.

The Saini brothers sold Mahek in Surrey to someone else one or two years ago, and then decided to open another restaurant on Broadway. The two restaurants are not owned by the same owner.

Having been to both, the food at the Broadway restaurant is excellent - in my opinion, it is far better than the Mahek in Surrey. I don't know what it is, but the food at the Surrey Mahek just doesn't taste the same as it used to when the original owners used to run the place.

In any case, I went to the Broadway restaurant, Cafe Mumbai, with 2 friends and we loved the food there. There are few sure bets in life, but Cafe Mumbai seems to be one of them. I've been there 3 times now, with different friends, and everyone raved about the food!
