We've all been there, desiring a quick sushi lunch, but unable to manage eating individual rolls with chopsticks while coordinating condiments of soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger with minimum spillage.

Enter Michi Sushi, a lunch time savior. Located in South Granville, with the appropriate eco friendly attire of dark wood walls and lime green floors, Michi Sushi is reinventing the way we think about fast food.

Considering its location and its resulting clientele, this breezy spot needn’t take its food so seriously. Happily, it does, as evidenced by a fairly original array of sushi rolls.

Opened just four weeks ago, the retail style shop is pretty tiny. Owner Kenneth Cho describes it like a gelato store, with all the sushi behind a glass case. Staff calls them hand rolls, but these are less cone-like than the hand rolls of yester yore.

Bundled like a pita wrap with minimal packaging makes them easy to grab and go. Though they may seem smaller than regular sushi rolls, we are assured that in actuality, they weigh the same amount as a normal roll. This is because they are overloaded with delicious fillings.

Pretty avg in regards to sushi. Things didn't taste superbly fresh or high quality. I hold sushi to a very high standard, but the price and portions make up for the more avg quality. I dunno why ppl go gah gah for this place. I might give it another try if I find myself in the area.

Wonderful! Finally an option to 'Fast Food' that is fresh, delicious and healthy; you can't get fried food this fast! Just what Vancouver needed.

Absolutely wonderful authentic Sushi (not New sushi). This is the most inexpensive I've found in Van. Keep it up Michi, you guys are wonderful.
