In January 1999, owners George Siu and Park Heffelfinger made a stopover to Memphis where it was love at first bite. The Pulled Pork Sandwich they had knocked their palates out and brought them back to Memphis for the annual World Barbecue Championships where they have collected recipes to bring back home. Beef Brisket, Cornish Game Hen and the slop of coleslaw on the side makes one badass meal. Its messy stuff here so put on your napkin bib and start digging that saucy meat with your hands. –A.C

I just ate at the commercial drive location and cannot recommend it. The girl at the cash was beyond rude. The food was mixed. The beef, sauce and sausage were good. The ribs were tasteless and not fall off the bone. The fries were dry hard little sticks. The chicken was dry and bland. The pulled pork was so dry it was brittle and not possible to eat. The corn bread was so dry it crumbled when you just touched it. AWFUL!! Overall it is overpriced and mixed quality. But rude staff is inexcuseable. You would thing in a slow economy businesses would really try to make your dining experience enjoyable.

    I love Memphis Blues!!!

Nic- Regardles of your view of the restaurant -You are an idoit, as most food/bacteria related illness takes much longer than the time you had. Salmonella takes roughly 8 hours to incubate, and ecoli takes even longer. Perhaps the place you should be warning people about is wherever you ate for lunch. Which [The baterium] you and your friends could have spread to each other throughout the day as it does not necessarily have to be transmitted through food.

I cannot wait until they build one by my house!!

Can't get enough of their meat! There is salad and chicken on the menu, though I've never actually seen salad on a menu in Memphis to be honest. This place is authentic, and the brisket is to die for. So soft and tender. Order lean if that's what you prefer (and it'll leave the yummy moist end for me!). Oh, man just writing about it makes me hungry, I better go there for lunch today ....

Four of us ate there, and three of us ended up sick during that night and we didn't even eat the same dish. Be careful of the quality of food, we definitely have never been back and we're pretty avid meat fans.

It's great value esp. if you get that meatarama a bit of everything plate which four people can easily share. Forget overpriced trendy snobby steakhouses and go here to eat meat the way it should be eaten. My one complaint is its' too much meat. Even when you are in Memphis, they have things like corn, salad, even chicken on the menu. Needs a tad more variety to balance out the meal.
