Banking on Lucy Mae Brown’s historically scandalous reputation as a bordello and opium den operator, this bistro cum lounge aims for that adventurous yet discreet environment. Expect bouncers to greet you at the door, and to solidify the club’s exclusivity, you may have to pay a cover charge.

In keeping with the bordello theme, a French restaurant inspiring culinary l’amour serves a variety of succulent seafood appetizers and entrées (heavy on the cream) and plenty of tapas sized dishes for those with lighter appetites. After dinner, knock back a few drinks at the Opium Den lounge in the basement where a dance floor is available for the calorie counters to burn off dinner shaking their booty to some funky tracks. - E.J.

I wish I had better things to say. Four of us went last night before a jazz concert and I can safely say I won't be back. Our server let us down. We placed our order and, after realizing forty-five minutes had passed, had to ask where our food was. The waitress said "we've had computer problems" as if that explained eveything. Oddly enough, people who came in after us were already eating. The food finally arrived, leaving us twenty minutes to shovel it in before we had to leave. The caesar salad ($10) was very small and tasted pretty bland which was likely due to the barely-there dressing. The waitress didn't get my other order right but it was too late to change it so I ate it anyway. My friend's said their food was okay but certainly nothing worth overlooking the waiting and poor service.

That's it for Lucy Mae Brown - too many other good restaurants in this town to bother with this one.
