Kayo pumps out equally savory cooked plates from her meticulous kitchen. Her personal fave dish is the Bif Teki ($19); thinly sliced AAA grade beef tenderloin marinated in a red wine soy sauce served with cooked seasonal veggies and a salad roll. It’s a reasonable option for that one person in every party who can’t handle the slurpy textures of raw fish. The crispy avocado rice croquettes ($8) that Kayo dishes out are also mentionable considering they are stuffed with mozzarella cheese and served with dipping sauce.
This is a fancy version of the best sin ever: deep-fried mozzarella sticks. Anything stuffed with warm melting cheese that’s crunchy on the outside is sure to be a house hit. And Lime’s version has avocado, which means it’s at least slightly healthy, right? Right? Don’t forget to sample a few of Lime’s signature cocktails during your visit. Try the health-obsessed Wakana cocktail made with aloe juice and vodka ($8) or the Kishu Royal with plum wine and Prosecco ($8).
Lime is proving to be a good time, with impressive beverages and fresh fish. Beware though, if you are going for the show, you will be charged a cover fee of $5-$10 depending on the band and the night. Covers are lame. With one flaw in a sea of attributes, Lime awaits your judgement. –J.T.
