 ollowing the Merridale philosophy of bringing farms to their farm, La Pommeraie will use Vancouver Island specialty foods and local seasonal ingredients in its culinary creations. La Pommeraie is a joint venture between Merridale owners Janet Docherty and Rick Pipes and the local culinary team of John and Tracy Waller.
Most recently the Wallers operated the Sunflower Cafe; a local dining institution in the Cowichan Valley which was well known for its use of local meats, seafood and organic produce complimented by fresh chutneys, relishes and salsas. La Pommeraie offers guests a choice of dining in the west coast style cider house with vaulted ceilings and a grand river-rock fireplace or al fresco on the wrap-around deck overlooking the orchard, deer pond and rolling pastures. |
